A separate Steam page also appeared under the shorter name Needle In A Haystack from another studio. Roblox copies

Gizmodo, Dexerto, and others described Roblox experiences cloning the idea inside two days — on the order of a dozen listings in that first burst. Names vary (“Find a Needle in the Hay!”, reversed hay-in-needle-stack jokes, tycoon wrappers). Typical tells:

• You launch Roblox, not Steam.
• Hay counts are 50,000 or 150,000, not five million.
• There is a code box, a like-for-update prompt, or a paid RNG shop.
• Badges for “first needle” at rates that would be impossible on a 5,000,000 pile in a weekend.

Those games can be fun. They are not this wiki’s subject. We will not list their codes, scripts, or Trello boards. If you arrived from a Roblox search, read the preview and decide whether you wanted the original Steam dare.

Another Steam listing

Steam also has Needle In A Haystack from NoGlyph (a different app ID, with a planned date around 30 September 2026 in store text). Their pitch is also co-op hay, selling straw, buying tools, with a four-player framing and named tools like buckets and vacuums on their site.

Why copies showed up so fast

The mechanic is easy to explain and easy to fake at a smaller scale. Nas noted the pain of going viral before a Steam page existed. That vacuum is catnip for clone stores. Your defence is a bookmark to app 5159870, not anger at every tycoon kid.
