Needle In A Haystack Languages

Seven Steam languages. Four wiki languages. English is the only full-audio row.

Supported Languages

Needle In A Haystack Simulator ships with seven Steam interface languages. Polden Publishing made that official on 4 September 2026, the same week Japanese outlets wrote up the store page. This guide is the language table, what “full audio” actually means, and why this wiki is not a copy of every Steam row.

If you only wanted to know whether you can play in Japanese: yes, on Steam. The game lists Japanese. The announcement recap is on Japanese support news.

English is the only row with full audio. Everyone else gets interface and subtitles. Steam has not published a voice-over cast, a dual-audio toggle screenshot, or a statement that hay physics sound different per locale. Expect menus and text in your language, and English (or none) in the warehouse air.

What this wiki localises

This site is English at the root, plus Deutsch, Español, and 日本語 (/de/, /es/, /ja/). We do not publish Simplified Chinese or Russian pages. That is a wiki policy, not a Steam limitation. Korean is also on Steam and not on this wiki.

If you are reading German, Spanish, or Japanese here, in-article links should stay in that language (/de/guides/…, not /guides/…). Legal pages /terms/, /privacy/, and /cookies/ are English-only and shared. The language switcher on those three URLs stays on the English legal page.

Japanese naming

Japanese press (Famitsu, Game Spark, Denfaminicogamer) uses Needle In A Haystack Simulator: 干し草の中の針. Steam’s English capsule does not print the Japanese subtitle. Both refer to the same Studio Bitdot / Polden title, not to a Roblox copy and not to NoGlyph’s shorter English name. Confirm app 5159870 on the wishlist page.

How language choice hits play

Menus. Interface ticks mean the Steam overlay and, once the build ships, in-game UI strings. We have not seen a language picker screenshot inside the warehouse. Use Steam’s game properties language setting if the client exposes one at launch.

Co-op chat. Steam lists in-game chat and online interactivity. Chat language is whatever your crew types. An eight-player pile from the co-op guide can mix Japanese and English call-outs. Agree on slice names before you start a blower.

Needle vocabulary. The win object is a sewing needle. German press says Nadel, Spanish aguja, Japanese 針. The screenshot is still a short silver stick in brown hay. How to find the needle is visual, not lexical.

Pure mode and tools. Those words are Steam English marketing. The no-upgrade dare does not change because your UI is Japanese. Pure mode and the tool ranking still apply.

What is not localised yet

  • Price (unlisted in every language).
  • Steam Deck (unknown in every language).
  • A day inside Q4 2026.
  • Full audio for German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Russian, or Chinese.

When Polden adds a language or a voice pack, the news hub should move first. Until then, treat the table above as the whole official story.

Practical setup before launch

  1. Set Steam’s client language if you want store news in Japanese or German.
  2. Wishlist app 5159870 from the wishlist guide.
  3. Join Discord from the Steam button — Discord — so language channels, if they exist, are the real ones.
  4. Read getting started in the wiki language you prefer. The loop (pick, sell, buy or refuse) is the same.
  5. Check system requirements. Specs are not region-locked.

If a clone’s store page only lists English, that is another hint you are on the wrong app. The original lists seven. The copies page is how you walk away.
