News Updates Hub

This hub tracks published news for Needle In A Haystack Simulator, the original Steam title from Studio Bitdot and Polden Publishing. The game is upcoming for Q4 2026. We do not mark it as launched. When a Steam news post, publisher blog, or Famitsu-style announcement lands, it should show up here and on the child pages: closed playtest, Q4 2026 release date, and Japanese support.

If you need how to play, leave this hub and open getting started. If you need to know which store page is real, open original vs copies.

Timeline so far

22 August 2026. Nas Nakarus (@NasNakarus) posts the first-person hay clip on X: five million pieces, one needle. The video goes massively viral (tens of millions of views across recaps).

24–25 August 2026. Mainstream coverage (Polygon, Dexerto, TheGamer, Gizmodo, and others). Commenters ask for co-op and tools. Nas talks about shovels, baskets, a leaf blower, and a Steam page “soon.” Roblox copies appear within about 48 hours.

Late August 2026. Steam page for Needle In A Haystack Simulator (app 5159870) goes live with Studio Bitdot / Polden Publishing, Q4 2026, online co-op, and the no-upgrade dare. Store footage and screenshots show belts, a detector, rakes, a blower, and up to eight workers.

31 August 2026. Steam news: playtest signups closed. Polden writes that gathering about 23,000 people was easier than finding one needle.

4 September 2026. Polden announces Japanese support among seven Steam languages (English, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese). Japanese outlets (Famitsu, Game Spark, Denfaminicogamer) cover the page and the eight-player pitch.

Also in this window. A separate Steam listing titled Needle In A Haystack from NoGlyph targets 30 September 2026 with a four-player pitch. That is not this news hub’s subject except as a disambiguation — see copies.

What we will log after this

  • A calendar day inside Q4 2026.
  • Price.
  • Steam Deck verification.
  • A public build, demo, or second playtest.
  • Patch notes that change tools, physics, or player cap.
  • Achievement or “pure run” flags if they appear.

We will not log every Roblox clone’s update, every meme, or every fake code list. This is a Steam upcoming-game news desk.

Where official words live

  • Steam app 5159870 news hub.
  • Polden Publishing (publisher site, X, YouTube).
  • Studio Bitdot / Nas Nakarus on X.
  • Discord invite listed on Steam.

Those URLs are collected on the official links page so this hub can stay about what changed rather than where to click.

How news changes the rest of the wiki

If player cap changes, the co-op guide moves. If the shop changes, the tool ranking and upgrade path move. If requirements change, system requirements move. If the proverb path gets an official name, pure mode gets that name. This hub is the index of those shocks.

Until a launch post exists, the most useful “update” you can take is still a wishlist on the correct app and a reading of how to find the needle. Five million pieces will not get smaller because a news cycle moved on.
